Weekend Recap

Happy Monday.  I am way late getting this post up.  This weekend was crazy packed!!  We started it off by heading to a friends house for some holiday crafting.  Their dog Bailey was happy to see Bobby!

We started with a delicious warm coffee and Baileys to help us get ready for crafting.  Aren't these mugs cute??

Then it was time for some crafts.  We made these fun wine cork wine tags.  So easy!!  I found the elf hats in a kit at Hobby Lobby.  A little spray paint, hot glue, pipe cleaners, sharpies, and ribbon...and ta da...

One of my friends loves horses, so I got her cowboy hats to put on her corks.  They turned out so cute!

Saturday afternoon was family Christmas with Bobby's mom's side.  It was a packed house with lots of family running around.  I let the moms and grandmas take the pictures for this one.  It was so fun to get to see everyone!

Saturday night was ex-roommate Christmas.  2 of my girlfriends and I lived together for a few years, so we would celebrate roommate Christmas.  When we moved out, we didn't want to give up the tradition.  So, ex-roommate Christmas was born.  This year we all got together and made a dish using wine as an ingredient.  It also happened to be the first birthday for one of our pups.  Combo party!!

The eggnog martini was so good!!  These things could be very dangerous!

I made Tyler Florence's French Onion Soup.  We also had barbecue shrimp and filet sliders with fondue and arugula.  Everything was amazing!!  The dogs got into the birthday party spirit with this adorable cake!

Barley was a little timid with her birthday cake, but the other pups dug right in!

Sunday was our annual cookie exchange party.  The Chiefs were playing, so we had everyone over to watch the game, eat some spaghetti, and exchange some cookies.  Porter was a little worn out from all of the partying!  It was a great time and everyone made great cookies!

What did you do this weekend?
What is your favorite cookie?

  1. I'm happy to see that I was not the only one that posted late in the day this lovely Monday! I blame my late post on lack of sleep and lots of time spent rocking a baby in the middle of the night.

Your weekend looks like it was alot of fun and your eggnog martini has me thinking... it's time for some martinis this week!

    1. The Eggnog Martini was so great! A little vanilla vodka, eggnog, and a splash of nutmeg on top. :)

  2. Those wine cork crafts are so adorable! What a fun and easy DIY for the holidays! I bet you could easily make them into ornaments too if you were doing it with a non-drinking (aka child) crowd!

    1. You could defintely make them ornaments or they can hang from soda bottles too. I just use them for wine bottles since that is one of the things that I usually give out to my girlfriends at Christmas. :)
