Bonus post today....
You may have noticed that the look of my blog changed a little bit recently. I discovered Peek on Chelsea's blog.
It's super easy. You put in your website and a stranger will use the website and give you feedback in the form of a 5 minute video. It is called usability testing- "the process of evaluating a site or product’s usability by letting real people try it". I accidentally submitted my blog twice, but it turned out to be great. Both users had different feedback-positive and negative and all of it was very constructive.
Some changes that I implemented:
1-The column widths were expanded to make it easier to read.
2-I streamlined the right navigation column and removed the contact me form.
3-I put my email information on the Contact Me! tab instead of using the contact form. Less confusion. I also changed the size and font on that page to be more consistent with the blog.
Future changes that I would like to make:
1-The header only links back to the home page. I would like to make the pictures link to different things.
2-Improve picture quality.
3-Index posts and have a way to search.
4-Improve the other tabs so that they are more user friendly
Have you tried Peek?
Any other changes that you guys would like to see? I love constructive criticism. I am new to the blogging world and welcome any tips and improvements that would help make Life Begins at 30? a better place to visit!!!
That is super cool. I'm totally going to check that out. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving the new look of your blog! I think it is great when people "refresh" the look of their site regularly.
