2013 Year End Recap

I can't believe 2013 is almost over. It was definitely my favorite year yet!! Since it is the last day of the year, I thought it would be fun to do a month by month breakdown of 2013. I am not going to lie, I had to use my calendar and facebook to make sure I covered all of the high points. :)

January-My New Year's Resolution last year was to do more for more people. I think I succeeded, but I will definitely be keeping this as a resolution for every year and then add to it. We rang in 2013 in style. We had a sequins to sweat pants party last year. So I started the night in my sequined dress and changed into comfy clothes to continue the celebration. January also included my first ever bridal show with Andrea. It was terrifying and overwhelming and I wasn't the bride!! I also went to a fantastic spa day for another friend's birthday.

February-Bitter sweet. My grandpa passed away, so I went back to Texas for the funeral. He had been sick, so it was a blessing and of course very sad! After the funeral, my family went on a quick getaway to the mountains for some snow and healing.

March-The month of birthdays. Bobby's best friend, Bobby and another friend all have birthdays pretty close together so they get together and celebrate! This year one chose paintball. I was terrible. Those paintballs hurt!!

April-I spent a weekend in Hermann Missouri for a 30th birthday party. It is a small town in the middle of Missouri with several wineries. It was a great time with lots of wine and celebrating!!

April also kicks off sports season. The first and my fastest half of 2013 was the Garmin marathon.  The people I ran with are huge motivators! So positive and fast!!

May-Corporate Challenge-it is the city wide athletic competition that lasts 2 months and includes all kinds of sports. I participate in all of them. It's crazy and fun!

June-I turned 30!!! I started the celebration with my good friends with a night on the town. Then Bobby and I headed to Mexico with my family. It was a blast!!

July-I spent the 4th of July at my friend's lake house and as always it was wonderful. Beautiful weather and good friends!

Then I went to see Beyonce with my sister and Andrea. Beyonce puts on an amazing concert!

August-It began with Bobby and my 4 year dating anniversary. We did a tour of Kansas City. Liberty Memorial, Nelson Atkins museum, and dinner at a local restaurant.

I went on a girls trip to Oregon with Kristi and Stephanie for a relaxing time of wine drinking and visiting the coast.

Then came back to host Andrea's champagne brunch/friend shower and bachelorette weekend. Both were a HUGE success!! Everyone had a great time and I think Andrea did too.

September-It started off with a bang. I went to Dallas for a friend's bachelorette party. Andrea and Billy got married! Then I took off to Arizona for a work trip the next day. It sounds so short when I type it up, but September felt really crazy!

October-Football, half marathons, beer olympics and a puppy! That about sums up the month. We attend a couple of Chiefs games. I ran the Kansas City half after not fully training for it. (I don't recommend not training for a race to anyone!) We attended the 2nd annual Beer Olympics at my friends house. Best of all we got Porter!!

November-My personal high month! I started my blog, went to Seattle and got engaged!! Seeing Bobby on one knee is one of the best moments of my life!!! I'm so glad he did it before Thanksgiving so that we could celebrate with my family at Thanksgiving. It was so special for my parents to surprise me with dress shopping. I was so happy to get to go with my family. My grandma, Honey, even said she had so much fun because she had never been wedding dress shopping. (insert tear here!)

December-This was the first year that Bobby and I got to celebrate Christmas together! We normally do a dinner with just the two of us and then go our separate ways, but this year we made it work. It was fantastic! I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store!!
