24 Day Challenge Results and Recap

Well, I made it through the challenge. However-I wouldn't call my journey a challenge. I customized the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to fit my lifestyle.  The website says: The 24-Day Challenge™ is a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program. Give your body the jump start it needs to help you reach your goals.  There’s something for everyone: weight management, energy, overall body composition or overall wellness.  I totally agree.

Let's look back at why I decided to do the challenge from my initial post:
Becky encouraged me to join and it seemed like a good opportunity to try it out. Several healthy living bloggers have been posting about positive results not only with weight loss, but with energy levels and overall health improvements!  A big thank you to Becky for reaching out!!  My energy levels improved a ton and my stomach seems to be a lot flatter without the processed foods!  I definitely was low energy during the cleanse, but the max phase almost instantly restores your energy and even gives you more.  Hello half marathon PR earlier in the month!!

No one loves to get into a bikini (except maybe swim suit models!) and it is always a little stressful trying to get in summer shape...so this is a great kick start to get that beach body!  I didn't lose a ton of weight, but I definitely feel better and less bloated (except for this weekend after all the beers!!).  I even got into a swim suit yesterday by the pool.  I am planning to do the challenge right before the wedding just to ensure that I am on track with my diet and so I can look hot in my dress.

Clean eating-I have been trying to eat more whole foods, but there is always room for improvement. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but processed foods definitely creep into my diet more than they should. I am looking forward to seeing how I feel without them.  I didn't realize how much processed food that I was consuming (ahem, ramen noodles).  Removing it from my diet made me realize how much better I felt not eating "fake food".  Plus, I fell in love with salads again.  I had forgotten how much I love them!!

Cut waaayyyy back on soda and booze. I have one can of diet coke per day + an occasional fountain drink as a treat. I feel like this is too much and would like to completely eliminate it for the challenge. Booze on the other hand-I will cut back on this one. It is getting to be wonderful patio weather and there are a few events that are on the calendar where I plan to limit myself to 2 drinks.  Soda was a success.  I didn't have any soda at all on the challenge!!  I haven't gone back to my one diet coke per day and I haven't had a fountain soda yet.  I plan to stick to water, spark, and crystal light!  Booze-I didn't do so well with this one!!  I followed my 2 drink rule on the cleanse phase, but was more lax during the max phase.  Again-prob why I didn't lose more weight, but I knew that would be the case!

Overall Results-not huge changes for me.  Most of my change was how I feel and getting back on track with being aware of what I am putting in my body!  It is weird not taking so many pills each day too!  I kinda miss the morning ritual/routine!!

If you are interested in doing the 24DC, I recommend speaking to an advocare coach and talking about your goals and needs.  They can help you come up with a plan and offer tips and advice to help you through the challenge!

Have you done the 24DC?  Did you have good results?  How did you feel before/during/after the challenge?

Any post challenge tips?

  1. Congrats on finishing your challenge :) Your stomach look awesome btw!! I did the 24dc challenge twice, without many success the second time. I think I tried too much to follow everything to a T and then felt super restricted. That was the perfect way for me to cheat with my favourite treats.. I'm definitely more a 80/20 kind of girl. I might do the challenge again in the future, if I feel like I went a little overboard though! I like how it makes me feel overall!

    1. Thanks! I couldn't do super restrictive because I would have failed miserably! 80/20 is perfect. :)

  2. Congratulations on your challenge!! I loved the routine of the challenge too. I still drink spark every morning - and 80/20 is a great way to keep up with your results but still eat cupcakes. ;)
