National Running Day!

Happy National Running day!  Every year, the first Wednesday in June is National Running Day

This morning I went for a run to kick off the day!  Tonight, Corporate Challenge Track continues.  I have to run the 100M, Sprint Medley Relay, and do long jump.  It should be an exciting evening!!!

Since it is National Running Day, I thought I would look back on my running journey and why I run....

I run to maintain my fitness. Running is my favorite form of cardio and is my main way to exercise.

I run to feel great. I have never finished a run and wished that I hadn't done it. I always feel energized and proud when I finish a run.

I run to be apart of a bigger community. The running community is so welcoming and huge! From "good mornings" on the trail to cheers during a race....there is positivity and encouragement everywhere! No matter where a runner travels, running friends are sure to be around.

I run to clear my head and escape. Running is me time. I get to go out and process thoughts or think about nothing at all. Many problems have been solved while out running and many moods turned around after a run.

I run because it is fun! The main reason that I run is because I genuinely think it is fun. Getting a PR makes me feel proud and happy, heck-completing a morning run makes me proud and happy.

Head over to Olive to Run for a linkup and to see what others had to say about why they run.

Why do you run??
