12 Days of Happiness

My friend Stephanie decided to send out 12 days of happiness to help bring some Christmas cheer.  Each morning, she sends out a feel good article to brighten some friends' days.

She started with this AMAZING quote from Love Actually (clearly one of the best Christmas movies EVER!!)... Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.

I think it is such a good idea that I am going to share some of the uplifting finds with you!

Day 1: Missouri waitress receives a car as a tip...this story made me smile to see the generosity shown by a couple and how it spread to a community.

Day 2: Cops pull over drivers for minor traffic violations and give them presents instead of tickets. This story was so sweet!  The video is great too!

Stay tuned for more Christmas cheer!  Linking up with .spoons for TOL today.  What better way to think out loud than to recognize the good in the world??

How do you get in the Christmas spirit?

  1. Aww I saw on the news the cop with the presents that was SO awesome! for my 30th birthday which is also in December I did 30 acts of kindness in one day. It was a crazy day, but it really is a great feeling to help someone in need.

  2. That's such an awesome practice! I think what helps me get in the Christmas spirit the most is focusing on others and what I can do for them. Christmas should be a time for giving and reaching out to those in need, so I do my best to up my volunteering and give my time to people who really need it.
