Happy Treat Yourself Tuesday and #GivingTuesday!! If you haven't heard of Treat Yourself Tuesday, head
over to Becky's blog to see why it is important to treat yourself and to check out everyone's links too. If you haven't heard of #Giving Tuesday, head over here to read about it. You can even combo the two and treat yourself by giving back!!
This week, I treated myself by addressing all of our Christmas cards. I LOVE how cute our cards turned out. I plan to get them in the mail this week. We are heading out of town this weekend, so this weekend was my chance to get them all addressed and ready to go!
I found these adorable socks in the bins at Target (aka, one of my favorite parts of Target!!). I have been wearing them often. So fun and festive!
I also treated myself to the family Thanksgiving Day 5K. After those of us who ran finished, we walked back to meet up with the walkers and cross together. Bobby and my father in law peeled off before the finish, but the other 4 of us crossed together. It was great to all finish together!!
I also treated myself to trying out a new recipe. I saw a recipe for Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie soup on Super Smart Mama a few weeks ago and knew we had to try it! I followed her recipe pretty closely-switching out chicken thighs for breasts and adding potatoes and a little more broth. It was delicious and perfect for Sunday when the weather turned super cold. Thank you for sharing, Marnie!!
Back to #GivingTuesday...I try to give my time and other donations throughout the year, but I
love that there is a day of giving and thanks after days of shopping! Giving back can be as simple as volunteering some of your time, signing up for races benefiting charities, or giving money or goods to those in need. Some of my favorite organizations include my church and these charities:
(if you need giving inspiration/ideas) Girls on the Run, Michael J Fox Foundation, and Harvesters.
Did you treat yourself this week?
What is your favorite way to give back?
Really nice treats! I have been enjoying some new books, a new tea and walking daily.
