I feel like I haven't talked to you guys in forever!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a great day!
We started with a Turkey Trot 5k. Bobby and I ran together for the first 2 miles and then he went ahead. It is always a fun family outing to start the day! Plus, a 5k totally justifies eating all the food, right?!?
I made this fun cheese tray and a few other appetizers.
Andrea and my MIL made homemade noodles...one of their family specialties. This year, my MIL made a gluten free batch too. Andrea approved!
My brother in law smoked a delicious turkey. It was almost too pretty to carve! Almost.
Some of the men on the couch... Waiting patiently for lunch.
Porter guarded Gma. She isn't too sure of him since he is giant, but she lets him sit closeby.
Friday was spent at home. We put up lights outside. We need a few more strands, but the bulk of the work is done. We also did a few things around the house. Nothing eventful enough to photograph.
Saturday started with lunch at Coopers Hawk. Champagne and salads was a great warmup for Santa Paws.
We volunteered for an event to benefit the Kansas City Humane Society. People could bring their pets and/or family in to take a picture with Santa. It was really cool and all of the money goes to the humane society.
After a long day volunteering, we met some friends for dinner and drinks. The boys...
And the girls...
Followed by Cards Against Humanity. Such a fun game! We played and drank until we made it through the whole deck!
Sunday looked a lot like this...
I also addressed all of our Christmas cards. Next year we will be back to a digital card! That was a lot of work!!
Looks like an awesome Thanksgiving weekend! That's how I felt, too - as if it has been ages since I connected with my blogger community. And we still have Christmas and New Year's to go! Whoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteI love your turkey "appetizer" of meat & cheese. How fun!
That roasted turkey looks deelish!! I've seen that game and thought it looks like fun! I did actual Christmas cards one year, and you're right, it's so much work. I haven't done any in years because of that. I sure love receiving them though!
