Weekend Wrapup

We had a crazy busy and fun weekend. Friday night, we met Bobby's coworkers for happy hour and some drinks...sorry...no pics from that. I didn't want to be the weirdo fiance taking pictures of people's beers at happy hour. :) Then we came home and made homemade pizzas. Pepperoni and pineapple on a Trader Joe's frozen partially cooked pizza dough. The taste was great and it cooked quicker since the dough was already partially cooked. After dinner, a couple of friends came by for a quick drink to cap off the evening.

Saturday was filled with errands and getting ready for the rest of the weekend. We attended a wedding on Saturday night, so I had to wrap the gift and it turned out super cute!

They had several cake options at this wedding, including superman cupcakes.  That was Bobby's choice.

Another interesting thing that they did was having a dance instructor come and teach people a swing dance.  Since there was no booze at this wedding, I opted out of the dancing.  It was fun to watch people though!

All in all, we had a fun time and we were home in time to catch the second half of the Kentucky game.

Not sure what is happening with my hair here.  #weirdlook
Sunday morning-bright and early, I participated in a 44 mile relay called Brew to Brew.  You start at Boulevard Brewery and run to Lawrence where Free State Brewery is located.  If you have had the pleasure of drinking any of either brewing company's beers, you know they are delicious!!!  We had a team of 7 participating this year.

Who doesn't love a beer at 6 in the morning??  It is called brew to brew, so drinking is a must!  We grabbed a quick team photo before the race started.

The first girl started at 6:40 in the morning and that leg was 3.9 miles.  The race is fun.  It is broken up into 10 legs with varying distances of 2.8-5.6 miles each.  The terrain is on a levee, up and down some rocks, side of the road, and some gravel roads with rolling hills.  There is even a leg where you cross the river in a boat.  I did the last 2 legs for a total of 8.86 miles (per my garmin).  I was pretty happy with my time.  It was 1:13:25.  The rolling hills for the first 4 miles weren't too bad and there was no wind, so the last almost 5 on the levee were really easy and nice.  I think it was a great warm up for my half this weekend!!  Full race recap under the Race Recap tab.

Of course we celebrated with beers and lunch at Free State Brewery after the race was over.

Have you ever participated in a relay type race?

What did you do this weekend?
